Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS) announced today that its independently developed 300,000 DWT ammonia dual-fuel Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) has been awarded the Approval in Principle (AIP) certificate for ship cybersecurity by China Classification Society (CCS). This marks the issuance of the first CCS ship cybersecurity principle approval (SL2 AIP) certificate in China.

China Classification Society (CCS) has issued an Approval in Principle (AIP) certificate for ship cybersecurity to Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (Zhoushan COSCO) for its 64,000 DWT bulk carrier, marking the first issuance by CCS of a cybersecurity AIP for an actual vessel.
