Project Overview
ASI supported the cybersecurity design of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding’s independently developed 300,000 DWT ammonia dual-fuel VLCC. China Classification Society awarded the project China’s first ship cybersecurity SL2 Approval in Principle, confirming alignment with IACS UR E26 and the CCS Guidelines for Ship Cybersecurity.
Key Highlights
China’s first CCS SL2 AIP
The project received the first CCS ship cybersecurity principle approval certificate at security level SL2 in China.
IACS UR E26 aligned
The vessel design was assessed against the unified cyber resilience requirements for ships.
CCS P[SL2] compliance
The design meets CCS class-notation requirements while balancing protection strength with implementation feasibility.
Cyber-resilient future-fuel vessel
Cybersecurity was integrated into the digital, smart and green design of the ammonia dual-fuel VLCC.
