Project Overview
ASI supported the cybersecurity design for Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry’s 64,000 DWT bulk carrier. China Classification Society issued an Approval in Principle for the actual vessel, confirming compliance with IACS UR E26 and the CCS Guidelines for Ship Cybersecurity and establishing a practical onboard cyber-resilience foundation.
Key Highlights
First CCS AIP for an actual vessel
The approval marked CCS’s first cybersecurity AIP issued for a specific ship project.
IACS UR E26 compliance
The vessel design meets unified cyber-resilience requirements covering onboard systems and their secure integration.
Foundational SL0 protection
The approved SL0 design establishes a practical baseline for cyber resilience and future enhancement.
Cybersecurity built into vessel design
Security requirements were addressed during design and construction to support safer digital operations.
