Project Overview
ASI delivered an end-to-end cargo monitoring solution for a 23,500 DWT oil and chemical tanker, covering hardware selection, system integration, site survey, installation guidance, commissioning and handover. The system combines 80 GHz non-contact radar level measurement with pressure and temperature monitoring across 18 cargo tanks, dynamic tank-capacity correction, and independent high-level and overflow alarm circuits.
Key Highlights
±2 mm non-contact radar accuracy
Self-developed 80 GHz explosion-proof radar uses a narrow 3° beam for confined tanks while eliminating wetted components and tank-cleaning residue.
Dynamic tank-capacity correction
Trim, heel, thermal expansion and hydrostatic deformation compensation improves loading measurement deviation from ±0.3% to ±0.1%.
Independent fail-safe alarms
Hardwired 95% high-level and 98% overflow circuits remain independent of the main monitoring system in line with RINA and SOLAS requirements.
Integrated monitoring and field delivery
A redundant integrated platform unifies cargo monitoring with other automation systems, while ASI engineers support survey, installation and commissioning on site.
